Todays trail maintenance was on Corridor and Eastern spice. starting on the Corridor it got the full PD style cut back, the trails always seem much longer when you are cutting back the veg! we made it to Eastern spaice just as we were losing light, we have cut through to where Jeff got up to from the bottom but we had to rush the last 50 m or so. trail is passable.
Thanks to Ash, Casey and Rick! for helping out.

Todays trail maintenance was on the Genesis pump track, we built up the berm at the far end of the track and gave it a more consistent shape all the way around, we also reshaped some more rollers. thanks Mark T!

Todays trail maintenance was on Katore jumps, some kind soul had already performed a random act of kindness in clearing the trail to make it ridable, but we went through and tried to do a PD style clearing to keep the veg at bay for a little while. thanks to Jeff (who did some clearing on Eastern spice) the guys from Bike Culture and to Casey K and his friends who also interrupted their ride to give us a hand.

Trail maintenance for today, was working on the Genesis Pump track, building something of a cross over to enable riders to switch directions. We decided there is not enough room to do wide radius berms, so we have chosen to do a crossover roller. whilst we were on the track we also reshaped a couple of rollers, that had packed down and gone out of shape. track rolls much better, we will reshape a few more rollers, and look at the berms next.
Also cleared Gorse bush from Grinder that was blocking the trail.
Also removed fallen logs from Double down that were in the landing zone of a jump.
Thanks Mark T for your assistance!

Trail maintenance today was a working bee with Rob from Bike Culture, Jeff from Southstar, Matt who supplied some awesome power tools for us to use, Paul and myself. Together we tackled Rollercoaster and gave it a good cutting back, with parts of it getting the PD style 1m cutting on either side of the trail. thanks to Matt for kindly supplying the tools, great effort everyone!

Started chainsawing the worst of the buddliea of the bottom of Hot X Buns

Took a set of loppers down Hot X buns to see if I could tackle some of the buddliea straying onto the track, Red and his PD crew are tackling the very top loop, which is almost completely blocked.

pics from yesterdays trail maintenance, has had Tuesday evening shuttle traffic over it and bedding in nicely, seems to be riding much more smoothly.
looking down rhythm section
Todays trail maintenance was finishing off the drains in the rhythm section and just smoothing out this chute, I lowered the level of the rest of the trail to the depth of the rut that had formed. This will probably need tweeking a couple of times to get bedded in right but i have a better plan for this section in the long run.
This jump is the third from the end of Huckleberry hound, it is a persistent feature on my maintenance list despite the amount of effort i keep putting into the drain to the left, hmmm. drain cleared and enlargened, landing had another barrow of dirt added to square it up a little.

Trail maintenance today was up on Huckleberry Hound on the flat straight to smooth the bits of trail inbetween the 4 jumps (mini rhythm section) there were some fairly big holes inbetween the jumps and you could be put off balance as you approached the take off of the following jump. holes have come from poor drainage so i have tried to shape and open bigger drains. mostly completed, I shall finish tomorrow, watched the first run of the evening shuttles go over my work and it all looked much smoother. no pics, forgot camera will take some tomorrow.

Good to see the trail maintenance i have done has held up even after we had quite a bit of rain.

trail maintenance today was to back up on Huckleberry hound filling the holes now that the puddles had dried
fixed up this jump and reopened the drain to the left, small repair to take off.
02/02/10
trail maintenance today was on Huckleberry hound continuing the clearing of drains, making new drains and dealing to very large puddles where there were no drains. I will come back tomorrow after the remainder of the puddles has dried up and start fixing up the holes.

started by fixing holes and opening drains on Huckleberry hound, trail has had a hammering throughout the winter, and has not had its post winter fix up.
this hole was starting to catch a few people out and causing people to brake more creating braking bumps all over the show.
hole filled and relevelled the trail for drainage, and cleared the drain at the lowest point. did a few hours along this section of trail prior to the forecasted rain we are in for later today.
